As reported by us earlier Thalapathy Vijay's 'Sarkar' movie directed by A.R. Murugadoss has undergone re-censoring and a scene was removed and a couple of dialogues were muted. It was due to the ruling ADMK government taking exception to the shots showing the throwing into flames freebies given to the public by the former CM Jayalalitha during the 2011 elections.

Sun Pictures has released a statement in this regard that reads "The ruling state government has indulged in violence and damaged theatres citing that a few scenes in our movie 'Sarkar' are controversial. Due to the request of theater owners and distributors, we decided to remove the said one or two scenes for the sole purpose of safeguarding the life of the viewers and properties of the theater owners."
