Idhaya Thirudan, veteran director K Balachander's home production being directed by his protege Charan, will grace the theatres on Pongal.

Idhaya Thirudan has 'Jeyam' Ravi and and Mumbai model Kaamna Jethmalani in the lead roles. Like all other Charan's films, this too will have lyrics by Vairamuthu and music by Bharadwaj. Idhaya Thirudan has Vani Viswanath, Nasser, Prithviraj,Kalpana, Kaka Radhakrishnan, Madan Bob, Crazy Mohan and M S Baskar in the cast.

Asked about the movie, Charan says 'It's the story of how opposites attract. If he wants to take a particular route, she favors another one.' When two such opposites get attracted to each other, how will their love progress? 'That's what I'm trying to deal in this movie', he says.

Heaping praises on Charan, Ravi adds, 'he is shrewd film-maker, who renders successful commercial entertainers'. For Kaamna, Idhaya Thirudan is her first Tamil venture.
