The first among the top five Telugu films of the fortnight is "Mahanandi" where Sumanth makes a strong comeback.

The top five films are:

1. "Mahanandi": Well-etched performances by Sumanth and Srihari, helped by a well-knit screenplay make the film a sure winner.

2. "Vennela": Director Deva's comic caper keeps the turnstiles working. Raja is impressive again, but it is the pranks of four friends that keep drawing the crowds.

3. "Aaru": Surya's performance has given the film a good opening.

4. "Sri": The film has done well because of good promotion by Mohan Babu. But Dasarath's predictable plot and narration may run counter to Manchu Manoj' comeback bid.

5. "Ghajini": The film stays on this list because of Surya's rivetting performance as a memory-loss patient. Well-mounted songs have enhanced its appeal.
