Sumalatha Ambarish will act in a Malayalam movie that will be directed by colonel turned director Major Ravi.

Major Ravi who is famous for making patriotic and army movies like ‘Keerthichakra’ and ‘Kurukshetra’ is making a movie on the hijack episode in 1999 in Kandahar. The movie boasts of a big star cast like Amitabh Bachchan, Mohan Lal, Bollywood star Sunil Shetty, Tamil actress Kaveri Jha and Kannada’s very own Ragini Dwivedi.

Sumalatha is apparently playing the wife of Amitabh Bachchan in the movie. Sumalatha is not new to Malayalam. She has acted in a lot of movies in the nineties, with both Malayalam super stars Mammootty and Mohanlal.

She was also approached for a Malayalam movie a couple of years back but she was busy with her husband Rebel Star Ambarish in his election campaign. She didn’t let go the opportunity this time!
