This one in the record books for shooting 18 hours with the help of 10 directors and 10 cameramen is a commendable movie because nowhere you get to see any shabby movements. A well crafted and well performed film is an eye opener to the society and system. The diseases should come only to the rich class not to the poor the film `Sugriva' focus in touching screenplay. There are some good dialogues and Shivarajakumar the best today in the emotional roles has given a fine performance.
The dose of sentiments is heavy in the film. The comedy mixed with seriousness is well thought. The technical aspects although the film is shot in 18 hours are not substandard. Little more sophistication and grips would have given high class results to the film.
The stunning remark Pooja (Yagna Shetty) makes to her husband Sugriv (Shivarajakumar) that even the animals protect themselves with great struggle. Why not human beings? If the child is not protected from heart ailment you would see me dead says Pooja makes Sugriv to take a drastic step. When Sugriv an ordinary car mechanic knows that he is not able to arrange Rs.45 lakhs demanded by the private hospital for treatment he thinks of hijacking the ICU division of the hospital with a pistol in his hand and full of emotions in his heart. The dozen plus patients and doctors are taken aback when Sugriv demand the heart transplant before anyone is set free. The hijack reaches the police and the entire hospital is surrounded. Sugriv via walkie-talkie contacts the commissioner of police outside and puts his demand. When things go against his wish he writes a letter to end his life so that his heart is removed and put to his son. What happens when Sugriv is at the ultimate stage of problem? The climax is once again very interesting.
This is a Shivarajakumar film all the way. His workaholic ability and devotion to the work has earned him good results. He never looks strained and in emotion filled roles Shivarajkumar is peerless. Yagna Shetty, Prakash Heggodu, Achyuth Kumar, Manju Bashini, Harish Raj, Dilipraj, Harshika Poonacha, Vijayasarathy all add up to the value of the film.
There is only one background song. The re-recording done for the film is absorbing. The camera work by 10 specialists is pleasant and there is no disturbance to the eyes.
This film is inspired from English movie `John Queue'. Worth watching!
Scoring 7/10
