Sufiyum Sujathayum movie director Naranipuzha Shanavas was recently admitted to a hospital after he suffered a cardiogenic shock. While the news came as a shock to the entire film industry, on Wednesday reports started doing the rounds that the young filmmaker passed away. Clarifying the same, Sufiyum Sujathayum movie producer Vijay Babu said that Shanavas is still on ventilator support and that his heart is still beating. 

Taking to his Facebook page, Vijay Babu wrote, "Shanavas is still on ventilator support . His heart is still beating .... request all to pls pray for him . We still hoping for a miracle . Shall update accordingly ...Pls do not post wrong information ."

Naranipuzha Shanavas who was writing for his upcoming film at Attapadi in Kerala, suffered a severe heart attack a day ago. Though he was immediately rushed to hospital by his friends, his health condition drastically deteriorated. His condition was diagnosed critical and is currently  in the ICU for the past two days. 

Naranipuzha Shanavas is the first Mollywood director to have released his movie directly on an OTT platform. The editor turned director's debut movie Sufiyum Sujathayum, had a direct release on Amazon prime video platform owing to the pandemic and lockdown. 

Starring Jayasurya, Dev Mohan, and Bollywood actor Aditi Rao Hydari, the movie's songs were chartbusters. However, the film received mixed responses from the audience and critics alike.
