Ilaiyaraja reintroduces a popular female singer after 14 years

Isaignani Ilaiyaraja is busy scoring music for multiple films in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada languages. The septuagenarian composer has a special knack of selecting the perfect singer for a song. Recently he has reintroduced popular Carnatic Singer Sudha Ragunathan to cinema by making her sing a song in one of his films. .

It is for a Kannada-Telugu bilingual titled as 'Idolle Ramayana' in Kannada and 'Manavoori Ramayana' in Telugu. The bilingual is being directed by Prakash Raja.

It is for this film Ms.Ragunathan has recorded a classical number based on many ragas.

It is worth recalling that Sudha Raghunathan who had achieved a top position as a classical vocalist was introduced to cinema by none other than Ilaiayaraja in R.Parthiepan's 'Ivan' that released in 2002. She had sung three classical numbers in that album.

Now after a gap of 14 years the veteran's divine voice will be heard in films.
