Kannada actor Sudeep had become a well known face to Tamil audience as well, thanks to the 2012 Telugu blockbuster movie Eega directed by SS Rajamouli, which was released in Tamil in dubbed version as Naan Ee. Sudeep played the villain, and his terrific performance fetched him good reviews.

Following this, Sudeep was also seen playing the lead role in the KS Ravikumar directed bilingual movie Mudinja Ivana Pudi, and also starred as the evil villain in Thalapathy Vijay starrer, Chimbudeven directorial fantasy entertainer Puli. He also had a cameo in SS Rajamouli's Baahubali the beginning.

Now, Sudeep is all set to make a comeback to Tamil with his multilingual project Pailwaan, which will have him playing a wrestler. Directed by Krishna, the movie is being made in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi, and also stars Aakanksha Singh and Sunil Shetty. Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi had released the Tamil version Bayilvaan's first look poster.
