At the success of 'Hubballi' director cum producer N.Om Prakash Rao has announced a film titled 'Kempe Gowda' starring Sudeep in the title role. 'Kempe Gowda' is the founder of Bangaluru (he named it as Benda Kaluru). The same title was registered by producer Soorappa Babu when he got the call sheet of superstar Upendra. That was a remake of Telugu mega star Chiranjeevi's 'Mutta Mesthri'.

Now Om Prakash Rao is borrowing only the title and starting the film muhurut on January 14 2007 in Bangalore. He is doing a lot of research on the founder of Bangaluru and inculcating in this commercial venture. I loved this title since a very long time says Om Prakash Rao the senior director of Kannada cinema. Sudeep heard the single line story of 'Kempe Gowda' from Rao one year ago.

According to Om Prakash Rao his recently released film 'Hubballi' collected Rs.3 crores in two weeks all over Karnataka from 49 prints. I have cleared my earlier losses from 'Thunta' film says Rao.
