Yesteryear actress Meena, who started her career as a child artiste, went on to do big-ticket movies in South Indian cinema in the 1990s. As a top heroine, she co-starred opposite big stars like Megastar Chiranjeevi, Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Kamal Haasan, and even opposite younger lots like Ajith and Malayalam superstars like Mohan Lal, Mammootty. In Kannada, she romanced the likes of Vishnuvardhan and Ravichandran of Sandalwood.
In a recent interview, the once-reigning actress opened up about the casting couch controversy that has been raging ever since the Sri Reddy leaks happened. She has stated that even in her time, the notorious practice existed and that although she had not personally faced it, her colleagues had confided in her about their experiences.
Meena has lamented that men who indulge in exploiting women in the film industry should give a thought about their own mothers, sisters and daughters.
