Director Halitha Shameem, who had made her debut with the movie Poovarasam Peepee had directed her second movie Sillukaruppatti, which was released jointly by Suriya's 2D Entertainment and Sakthi Film factory.

The movie starring Samuthirakani, Sunainaa, Kravmaga Sreeram, Sarah, Venkatesh, Manikandan, Nivedhitha Sathish, Leela Samson had received great reviews and had also become a commercial success. As Sillukaruppatti celebrates 50 days in theatres, Suriya and Jyothika invited the team and celebrated and also gifted a MacBook to Halitha.
