The Aryabhatta International Award is bestowed on Qatar resident an engineer by profession since 2007 Subramanya Hebbagilu.

Aryabhatta Cultural awards in the field of cinema, TV, literature etc is the brain child of HLN Rao has instituted award for NRI`s.

In Qatar Doha Al Misna Company` Subramanya Hebbagilu works. He hails from a small village in Baindur in Karnataka. Subramanya is vice president and treasurer of Karnataka Sangha of Qatar. He was instrumental in organizing cultural events in Qatar. In Kannada films turning successful in Qatar and other places he is very influential.

The recent films in Kannada Rangitaranga, Kotigobba 2, Hebbuli, Kirik Party, Dodmane Hudga screening Subramanya Hebbagili played a crucial role.

He is also member of Indian Community Benevolent Forum that is doing social service like free workshops, medical facilities, workers welfare, donations to needy etc.
