'Subrahmanyapuram' is directed by debutant Santosh Jagarlapudi. The trailer gives away its theme of a rationalist trying to figure out what is that one mystery ailing the village in which the movie is set.
The story is set around myths related to a temple in the village. The trailer throws up hackneyed elements seen in run-of-the-mill supernatural thrillers. Sumanth is an atheist and Eesha Rebba tells the poor hero that it's his bad luck if he doesn't believe in God. A language that disappeared hundreds of years ago is part of the plot. Veteran actor Suresh doesn't want the hero to poke his nose into "our village's problem".
"To believe or not to believe" is the caption. Shot in Yanam, Amalapuram and Kakinada, the entertainer also features Tanikella Bharani, Josh Ravi, and Bhadram.
Sekhar Chandra is the music director. The cinematography is by RK Prathap. Editing is by Karthika Srinivas. Art direction is by Lakshmi Sindhuja Granthi. Costume designing is by Suma Tripurana.
