'Subedar Joginder Singh', described by the makers as a biographical war film, stars Gippy Grewal and Aditi Sharma in main roles. Directed by Simerjit Singh, this one was originally conceived by writer-art director Rashid Rangrez. Set in the war-torn year of 1962, it tells the story of Joginder Singh, one of the few Indian Army heroes to be honoured with Param Vir Chakra.
The Trailer, released today, is high on battlefield action, emotions, and power-packed lines. Visually, this seems to be one of the best war films made in India. Shot in real locations (for example, Suratgarh of Rajasthan, which is near the Indo-Pakistan border, Dras sector in Jammu and Kashmir), its cinematography is breathtaking.
The solidarity among the soldiers, their readiness to sacrifice their lives for the country, the belief of Joginder Singh that wars are not fought with ammunition but courage - all of this captured in visuals and terrific dialogues in the trailer raises expectations from the film.
Also starring Guggu Gill, Kulwinder Billa, Karamjit Anmol, Rajvir Jawanda, Harish Verma, and Sardar Sohi, it will hit the screens on April 6.
