Businessman is in news for an important reason. If it took the BO by storm from day one till up to a week or even more, the film’s satellite rights sold for a staggering price of Rs. 6.6 cr. It is learnt that Puri Jagannadh (who originally held the rights from RR Movie Makers) has sold the satellite rights of Businessman to Studio N at the astronomical price. This is by far the highest amount accrued to a film’s satellite rights in Tollywood.

Since the movie is the biggest hit it seems to have fetched RR Movie Makers this gargantuan amount. Trade analysts might still be surprised, as this is abnormal and unheard-of in the commercial history of Telugu films.

At a time when satellite rights are forming one of the most important sources of profits for the producers of big-time movies, Businessman’s record-setting sell-out price is surely the icing on the cake.
