Vivo withdraws IPL sponsorship after severe backlash!

The BCCI has made an official announcement today that they have suspended the IPL title sponsorship deal with Chinese mobile phone company Vivo for the upcoming edition of IPL, in the wake of the rising tensions in India- China diplomatic relations.
The BCCI has released a one-line statement without furnishing further details to announce that Vivo will not be associated with the 13th edition of IPL which will be held this year in the UAE.
Vivo had won the IPL title sponsorship rights for five years starting from 2018 till 2022 for a massive Rs 2190 crore, coming to around Rs 440 crore per annum. BCCI will soon float a tender for new title sponsors. IPL starts on September 19 in the UAE.
