AR Rahman is a highly celebrated music composer across the world. He stunned the nation by bagging two Oscar Awards in 2009. The fans fondly address him as Isai Puyal, Mozart of Madras and Oscar Nayagan, who originates from Tamil cinema. Now, another pearl is added to ARR's crown.

In Canada, a city's mayor has named a street after AR Rahman to honour the renowned musician. Just as streets in our country are named after political leaders, a street in Canada is named after Isai Puyal. Markham is a city in Ontario province, Canada. A street has been officially named 'AR Rahman Street' in Markham by its mayor.

ARR posted pictures from the felicitation function for him and shared a video from his acceptance speech. Sharing the images, he wrote, "Honoured and grateful for this recognition from @cityofmarkham and the people of Canada ???? ???? EPI #arrahmanstreet #markham #canada #celebratingdiversity #infinitelovearr" (sic). Already in 2013, another street in Canada was named AR Rahman Street and now for the second time, a street has been named after him.

While AR Rahman musical 'Cobra' starring Chiyaan Vikram is slated to release on August 31, the audio launch of ARR's next 'Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu' with Simbu will release on September 2. Following this, AR Rahman's fans are in for another musical treat as the songs of 'Ponniyin Selvan 1' will be released on September 6.
