Among the inevitable promos of Telugu films that are on the various satellite channels, the most striking and the most evocative one has been that of 10 Strangers. Shown in crisp black and white, it makes for curious viewing.

And curious are Tollywood hands to see this film as it is supposed to be a whodunit kind of suspense film made on a budget of around Rs.50 lakh (yes, you read the amount right).

At a time when such an amount won't even accommodate the hero and heroine's costume cost, to make a film at such a budget is praise worthy.

But even if it is for Rs.50 lakh, producer Manyam Ramesh (an executive producer with Anjana Productions and brother-in-law of Naga Babu) has taken a risk. But he loves risks and challenges.

The moment Rajesh Touchriver (maker of In the Name of Buddha) told him about the script, Ramesh has been keen on going ahead with the project. That's commitment for you.

Verify, the film is about ten people who come together but are bumped off one by one. Who and why form the crux of the film. It is a plot that is not totally new. But both Nagababu and Ramesh feel this multi-lingual film has enough suspense on its own to keep the interest alive.

Nasser's, who plays an important part in the film, is one of the important roles in the movie. He plays a psychiatrist while Nagababu plays an accused. Jyothirmayee, a Malayalam actress, is also in the cast.

The film will hit the theaters by 29 April. And soon it will be released in Tamil and Hindi.
