Many years ago, Puri Jagannadh was a contender for bagging the rare opportunity to direct Chiranjeevi's 150th movie. He is understood to have narrated a script titled 'Jana Gana Mana' to the Megastar. With Chiru saying no, the script was offered to Mahesh Babu later. The 'Maharshi' actor almost gave the nod. Puri went to the town saying that he will be directing 'Jana Gana Mana' with Mahesh. This project never took off.
After some turns and much suspense, the script is understood to have gone to Vijay Deverakonda now. It's learned from our sources that the Deverakonda-Puri film will probably be 'Jana Gana Mana'. The title and cast and crew are yet to be announced. As such, it's only a matter of speculation as of now.
The project will be jointly produced by Puri and Charmme. After the stupendous success of 'iSmart Shankar', Deverakonda trusts Puri totally.
