It's known that Chiranjeevi's 'Acharya' is facing allegations of stealing its entire story from a writer. Rajesh Manduri, a wannabe director, has claimed that its story was written by him for Nandamuri Balakrishna. As per him, Mythri Movie Makers passed on the story to Koratala Siva, who is now making 'Acharya' for Ram Charan's production house.
"I have worked under the likes of B Gopal garu. I have been a co-director and associate for 17 years. In 2017, with the aim of becoming a director, I approached Mythri Movie Makers with a mass story. I had Balakrishna in mind. I was not given the opportunity to direct the movie because I have no experience as a director. Eventually, the story came to be made with Chiranjeevi as the hero and the film is 'Acharya'," Rajesh Manduri has told a portal.
Since Balayya was busy with the election campaign in 2019, Rajesh couldn't meet him. In due course of time, Chirus' 152nd movie was announced. Someone in the industry hinted to Rajesh soon after its announcement that its storyline is exactly like his. The writer has since approached the concerned industry body but he has not received any help.
