Vishal is known for his action packed performances in his film. The actor tries the stunts in real life too. A Month ago, he took on the piracy racket and the entire film industry supported him for his fearlessness.

Director Karthik Subbaraj joins the bandwagon too. He has joined hands with Vishal in putting an end to piracy. He did this for stopping pirated CDs of his recent release Jigarthanda which is said to have named after his native Madurai's signature drink.

Vishal succeeded in erasing piracy in Karaikudi with the help of cops. Karthik, with his team of assistant directors and local youth, did it in Madurai. Karthik got a wind about the issue when he was out on theatre visits during his two day visit to the Temple City with film Lead Siddharth and Villain Bobby Simha. He started a hunt for the pirated copies right after he got the knowledge about it. He took the help of Thodarvom' a local service organization and some of the film crew including his father Gajaraj.

The teams caught the shops that were into this petty act and bought at least 20 DVDs of Jigarthanda. Some shop has received a cardboard box full of pirated copies of several films including the Director's film and 20 odd copies of Jigarthanda.

Senthil who is one of the assistant directors caught two persons and brought to justice. Founder of Thodarvom said that Kalaiyan was also part of the raid team and as the seller of one shop identified the actor, he couldn't get those DVDs.

When asked the Director if his much needed anger on this act was a publicity stunt, he said that after hearing the news of the piracy of his own film disturbed him and he found the news to be true. He immediately lodged a police complaint and the police were ready to action against those who were involved in it. The Madurai police raided CD outlets and have managed to seize 106 pirated DVDs of brand new films. Director's complaint brought this on light and three cases have been filed.

Karthik is happy to have been helped the Industry with his brave act. He said that this would stop the CD shops from selling pirated versions at least for a period of time, strengthening the collection numbers.
