India and Pakistan have been at loggerheads with each other ever since the partition but despite all the differences, they are still connected by the thread of art. Till few years ago, Pakistani actors like Fawad Khan used to star in Bollywood films but due to rising tensions between the two countries after Uri attack, they were banned from working in Indian films.
Established Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, who shared screen with Shahrukh Khan in the 2017 film 'Raees', recently shared that she is still in touch with several of her coworkers in India. She said that she is quite careful about it though since celebs like her are always vulnerable to controversies.
Mahira told Variety, "I am still in touch with so many people, and there’s a lot of love there. Unfortunately, we are easy targets, soft targets, whether it’s us here in Pakistan, whether it’s them there in India. Because we’re artists, and that thread of art connects us, we actually get each other.”
On the work front, Mahira was recently seen alongside Fawad Khan in the blockbuster film 'Legend of Maula Jatt'. The film was supposed to release in India as well but was eventually banned owing to the rising tensions between two nations.
