Steve Smith and David Warner banned from cricket

Steve Smith and David Warner have been banned for twelve months from playing cricket by Cricket Australia following their ball tampering scandal that erupted in the third test on the Australian tour of South Africa.  Cameron Bancroft who used the illegal sandpaper to alter the condition of the ball has been handed a nine month ban as well.

The Australian trio are also returning home and have been replaced by Glen Maxwell, Matt Renshaw and Joe Burns.  Smith and Warner apart from stepping down as captain and vice captain of Australia have also lost their captaincy of their respective IPL teams Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad.  Another major disappointment for both  the Ausies and their fans is that the IPL too has banned them so they will not be seen taking the field this summer.
