Nothing wrong in police firing, H Raja on Sterlite protests

The anti-sterlite protests today at Tuticorin has culminated in violence with several killed and injured when police opened fire to contain protesting masses. Reportedly, the protestors thronged the collectorate premises and a chain of events led to the police resorting to lathi charge, tear gas and shooting.
While the state is grieving the loss of eight lives in the protests, H Raja the National Secretary of BJP has stated that when protests convert to riots, there is no other option. The statement which is seen as a support to the firing by the police has been receiving flak from netizens.
