Nothing grips India’s imagination the way cricket does – no, not even the lovely Aishwarya Rai – Bachchan. Even as the common man gears up to spend hours glued to the TV set, games are never any good without some fun first! The opening ceremony of Indian Premiere League Season 2 will open with the eight IPL teams making their entry led by flag artists. Celebrating their entry will be Indian and African Dejembe drummers dressed in colourful costumes.

Next, expect to see Zulu dancers strut their stuff and a dance performance by the Gum Boot Dancers group. Also making an appearance is Snow Patrol, an alternative rock band from Northern Ireland and Scotland. The show only gets better with a high power laser display, sky tracers, fire dancers and butterfly dancers. And of course, don’t forget to do some star-spotting becauseShah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Shilpa Shetty, among others, are going to be there cheering for their teams.
