Stars Speak At 'Thoongavanam' Trailer Launch

With Kamal Haasan's 'Thoongavanam' trailer released with much fanfare and a rousing reception, expectations for the movie have shot up high! And, the events were proceedings were no less.
The event started with 'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan asking the actors (in front) to call the technicians onto the dias. The event started with each actor calling couple of technicians to the dias.
Prakash Raj
Prakash Raj started off by saying that right from the word go, the team was well-organized and were clear about what they wanted to see in the end. He then said the film is a new genre in Indian cinema and will reap praises for its action, cinematography and editing. He finished off saying the film will be a roller-coaster ride for the fans.
Trisha
Trisha started off by saying the obvious that it was every actor's dream to work with Kamal and she was no different and she found the experience to be a huge honor for the second time. She said she worked with director Rajesh earlier in 'Manmadhan Ambu' and that their rapport was good right from the word 'GO' back then. About the film, Trisha said there was a challenging portion she said she couldn't have done without Kamal sir. She finally ended her speech by saying she had herself dubbed for the film and would not have done that also without Kamal sir.
Yugi Sethu
Yugi Sethu started off by saying that 'Thoongavanam' is a realistic film coupled with a balance of entertainment value. He also reminisced how Kamal Haasan was relaxed during shooting as he felt confident about Rajesh Selva.
Jagan
Comedian Jagan described his role as a blink-and-miss role and that the audience need to watch keenly to catch a glimpse of him in the film. Interestingly, Jagan revealed that he saw Kamal sir doing mimicry.
Aman Abdulla
The little boy said he played Kamal's son in the film and that he was recommended for an audition after his dramatics sir Mr. Krishnan saw an ad on Facebook. He said Kamal sir gave him a lot of tips to improve as an actor.
Dance Master Shobhi
Shobhi said he started his course (working under Kamal) in 'Virumandi' and that transitioned to 'Vasool Raja MBBS'. 'Thoongavanam is his latest course in Kamal's University. He narrated how he used to tell Rajesh that Kamal sir will one day make him a director. And, it paid off slowly as he became an assistant in 'Virumandi' and then followed by 'Vasool Raja MBBS - and now has become a director to Kamal.
Ghibran
Ghibran said that he hardly had anythin to say since all that he had prepared was said by everyone else on the stage. He said he felt most happy for Rajesh when he heard he had gotten his opportunity for direction.
Gauthami
Gauthami spoke about the details she implemented for the costumes in the film. She also said that Trisha's dressing and hairstyle was completely changed and that she was on board for it right from the word 'GO'!
She revealed that director Rajesh was part of the Rajkamal family for almost seven years and that his growth till now has been because of focus and sincerity.
Rajesh M.Selva
Director Rajesh revealed that directing Kamal was very easy since he was a great actor. He also shared his working as his assistant director that he had the opportunity to read Kamal sir's first draft scripts. He then said that April 17 was the date he will never forget since it was the day Kamal sir told him he'd get to direct the movie.
Kamal Haasan
Kamal Haasan started off saying they were catering to catering to 14 crores people (Tamil and Telugu). He said that the audience is more aware of things now and will tell you how to make a good film. He said the team had done a lot of preparation for the film.
Kamal finally said from now on the Raj Kamal team will move on faster and faster and that the location hunt and story have all been decided for the next film. The team is moving towards that.
