Many of the M'town actors and directors have come out in support of team 'Leela' as it faces the piracy issue. The movie was released recently and as a novel initiative was also released online for the overseas viewers. The pirated version of the movie has appeared on the internet within days of release.

Director Aashiq Abu has come out in support of the 'Leela' team and so has many others. Manju Warrier wrote in her fb post, "Piracy has been a threat that movie industry has been facing worldwide. Leela is its latest target. I request everybody to be with us during the times of crisis and not support any untoward activity that will harm the industry and affect the lives of people who are associated with the industry."
