In what can only be called a shocking, sad and crazy news, a fan of Sandalwood star Yash has committed suicide by setting himself on fire in Bengaluru. Reason? He didn't get to click a selfie with the 'KGF' actor on the latter's birthday! The victim, named Ravi Raghuram (26), was declared to be dead today by the authorities at Victoria Hospital.
On the actor's birthday, Ravi most recently went to Yash's residence at Hoskerehalli. He expressed a desire to click a selfie with him (as he does every year) but the staff of the hero told him to go back as the actor was not in the town.
Utterly disappointed, the guy doused himself with petrol and did the unthinkable.
The actor's security personnel rescued him but it was too late.
Yash went to the hospital today to mourn the fan's death. Later, he said that what Ravi did was not fandom. "What he has done doesn't make me happy. I can't appear to encourage such extreme behaviour. I won't even pay a visit if any fan behaves like this in the future," he said.
