In his recent speech adressing his fans in a gathering. Superstar Rajinikanth has once again hinted that he may enter politics if god offers him that role. He also went on to say that if he enters politics he will keep the people with ill intentions of making money at bay and will remain a clean politician.
This has again set up the long standing debate of whether the Superstar will enter politics and whether he will be successful.
The top political leaders of Tamil Nadu cutting across party lines have always been in a cordial relationship with Rajinikanth. Thalaivar's latest statement has evoked positive response from prominent poltiical leaders in the State.
M.K.Stalin, the Working President of the DMK said "It is Rajinikanth's wish to enter or not to enter politics. But decides to enter poltiics, I will welcome that decision".
Echoing Stalin's words, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi founder Thol Thirumavalavan has however charged that the BJP is trying to get a stronghold in Tamil Nadu using Rajinikanth.
BJP's State President Tamizhisai Soundararajan said "From the speech of Rajinikanth we could understand that he will oppose corruption and that he intends to enter poltiics. BJP is also completely opposed to corruption. If he enters with a good structure and good people he will definitely succeed."
However Subramanian Swamy, a popular politician from Tamil Nadu who is interested in the National politics and always speaks against the interests of the state has vehemently criticised Rajinikanth's speech.
"Rajinikanth does not have a ideology. He is not even a Tamilain. He is a Maratha born in Karnataka. His political vision is not clear. If he enters politics he will definitely bite the dust."
