SS Thaman to score music for Vetrimaaran's new film

Vetri Maaran is currently considered as the best director of K - town. His works are commercially successful as well as highly acclaimed. His films either talk about unexplored roots of our landscape or a strong take against the injustice in our society.

The filmmaker portrayed the horror of police cruelty and casteism in his Visaaranai, Asuran, and Or Iravu in Paava Kadhaigal. Vetri, as a screenwriter, has written story and screenplay for Udhayam NH4 and Naan Rajavaga Pogiren.

The gruesome maker's next work as a screenwriter is Adhigaaram featuring Raghava Lawrence. This project will be helmed by Edhirneechal and Kaaki Sattai fame Durai Senthilkumar, the former assistant director of Vetri. Fivestar Kathiresan is producing this film, who already produced Vetri's Polladhavan and Aadukalam. Vetrimaaran's Grassroot Film Company is co-producing Adhigaaram.

Most part of the movie is planned to be shot in Malaysia. The rest of the shoot will happen in Chennai and Mumbai. Raghava Lawrence is handpicked by Vetri Maaran himself, to play the lead. The team dropped a motion poster along with the first look and second look posters. They are planning a pan-Indian release for this, as Lawrence's Kanchana made a super hit as Laxmi Bomb starring Akshay Kumar in Bollywood.

Today, the production house took to twitter to make public that SS Thaman will be scoring music for this flick. Lawrence worked with Thaman previously in Kanchana 2 & 3. But this is Vetri Maaran's first collaboration with SS Thaman. Stay tuned for more updates on Adhigaaram.
