S.S. Rajamouli confirms ‘RRR 2’

S.S. Rajamouli, the Indian filmmaker with the midas touch gained worldwide fame through his ‘Baahubali’ films.  He followed them up with  ‘RRR’ released in earlier this year which also gained acclaim worldwide.  The film stars Ram Charan, Junior NTR, Alia Bhat, Olivia Morris, Ajay Devgn and Samuthirakani.  It is also worth noting that this film, made on a budget of Rs.550 crores, collected Rs.1200 crores worldwide.

Rajamouli in his most recent press interaction has revealed that the stories of every film of his is written by his father Vijayendra Prasad who has started scripting the sequel to ‘RRR’ as well.  

The granduer filmmaker is currently involved in the preproduction work of his next starring Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu. The shooting of the film, which is based on the events that take place in the Amazon jungle, is expected to begin in January.  It is reported that Tamil superstar Karthi is also playing a parallel lead.
