Come January 5, Sri Rama Rajyam will complete its 50-days run successfully. The mythological magnum opus from Bapu, produced on a lavish scale, has been attracting the family audience in urban centres. The producer is planning to celebrate the film’s (modest) success in Vijayawada. Thousands of fans of Balakrishna are expected to come to the event.

NBK's performance, Nayanatara’s screen presence, Illayaraja’s background score, Bapu’s directorial touch have contributed to SRR’s standing. It is, however, true that the film has not done as well as expected.

If old-timers are finding it impressive, some pundits observe that the film has not won the hearts of the mass audience and youngsters. In the same breath, it should be added that SRR has been universally hailed as an aesthetic marvel.

The function will definitely be a success and might see the presence of biggies. Since the film needs a boosting at this juncture, it would be make good publicity.
