SRK's small screen dreams

The shrewd business man inside the superstar Shah Rukh Khan after carving a niche in the film production sector with a couple of blockbusters has now put his focus on repeating the success mantra in the fast growing Indian television industry.

According to estimates the television industry is worth Rs.22,600 crores and has been growing at a rate of 18% for the last five years.

So for a person like SRK who is also an investor always on the lookout for new profitable avenues to generate revenue and one who knows the entertainment industry and the preferences of the public inside out, the call from this particular entertainment segment might have been hard to resist.

Red Chillies Entertainment owned by Shah Rukh has already decided upon the first array of its programs.

Apart from the sitcom titled as 'Ghar Ki Baat' and a chat show to be hosted by choreographer/director Farah Khan, SRK's company will be presenting a very novel show which can be truly called as being one of its first kind in the Indian small screen.

The show called The First Ladies through the different episodes will be presenting women who get their share of spot light and fame due to being the life partners of some of the most successful men in the planet.

The ladies who have stood firmly supporting their husbands through all kinds of trials and tribulations in their climb up to the top will reveal never before heard details about their personal lives.

Some of the guests who will be seen in The First Ladies are Neerja Birla, Usha Mittal, Adhuna Akhtar, Nita Ambani, Tanya Deol, Kiron Kher, Suzanne Roshan, Manyatta Dutt, Gauri Khan, Jaya Bachchan, Anupama Chopra and Maharani Padmini Devi.
