As news spread far and wide about Shah Rukh Khan and wife Gauri Khan having baby boy through surrogacy, it sent an alarm among several hospital officials.

When Radiological and Imaging Associations (IRIA) heard that the celebrity couple will have a male child, the organisation through an email questioned the officials of State Health Department as to how Shah Rukh came to know about the baby’s sex when sex determination is illegal in India. An immediate probe into the matter was instructed.

It was alleged that Dr Firuza Parikh of Jaslok Hospital has undertaken the surrogacy case of the Khan couple. However an official statement was sent by the Hospital spokesperson clarifying that the news was false and their doctor was not involved in it.

The statement read thus - "Dr Firuza Parikh, who is the Director of the IVF Centre at Jaslok Hospital has not done surrogacy for Mr and Mrs Shahrukh Khan. She is not involved in the care of their alleged surrogacy."
