The Badshah of Bollywood will soon turn cricketer for none other than Vidhu Vinod Chopra, producer of some fabulous ventures. Titled ‘Ferrari Ki Sawaari’, the film will be directed by Rajesh Mapuskar, a long-time associate of Rajkumar Hirani.

According to sources, Shah Rukh Khan plays the role of a legendary cricketer Ferrari. The film tells the story of a young boy whose dream to play cricket at Lords in England comes true because of Ferrari.

A known fact among industry circles, SRK and Vidhu had not been seeing eye-to-eye due to various reasons. In fact, Vidhu had offered films like ‘1942-A Love Story’, ‘Munnabhai MBBS’ and the recent blockbuster ‘3 idiots’ to Shahrukh. But the actor had rejected those citing date and other problems. Later, the producer had taken a jibe at Khan’s ‘Paheli’, which widened the rift. Gradually they became friends, thanks to the multiplex owners-producers strike which brought them on same stage.

Incidentally, it is heard that initially Ferrari Ki Sawaari was offered to Aamir Khan. But since the star is on a long break to concentrate on his productions, he turned down the film.
