This is the time for crusading against corruption. The Anna Hazare effect has smitten Bollywood. That's why we are seeing the revival of AR Murugadoss Ramana (which was made as Tagore by VV Vinayak, way back in 2003) in 2012.
Earlier it was reported that King Khan will sign a movie with the director of Ghajini fame. It was then said that the ace filmmaker had two scripts on hand for the Badshah of Bollywood. But now here's something new on this front.
It is said that AR Murugadoss will be remaking his 2002 Tamil film Ramana in Hindi. The film, starring Vijaykanth, revolved around a common man's fight against corruption by forming an Anti Corruption Force.
According to sources, when Sanjay Leela Bhansali heard the script of the film he was so impressed with it that he bought its rights. From there, Bhansali went to SRK with the offer to play the lead in the film, who in turn said to have liked the film as well. And apparently that's how AR Murugadoss was brought on board again for his project...
If all goes well, one can expect a fabulous treat from this talented trio - Shah Rukh Khan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and AR Murugadoss...
It will be interesting to see whether SRK will insist that the remake be made on the lines of the Telugu version or the Tamil version. Keeping in mind Chirus image, Vinayak incorporated the romantic-comedy track and the songs. Given Bhansali's inclination for serious filmmaking, he may prefer the Vijaykanth version.
