Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, who got a clean chit in the much talked about drugs-on-cruise case, had informed the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) that he used to consume ‘ganja’ during his college days in the United States as he was apparently suffering from a sleeping disorder.
As per a charge-sheet filed by the NCB in a Mumbai court against 14 out of 20 people arrested in the case last year, Aryan Khan admitted to smoking ganja in the US in 2018 while he was doing his graduation over there. “I started smoking ganja in 2018 just for recreational purposes when I was in the US. Ganja smoking is legal there. Also, I was having some sleeping disorders and on a few internet articles, I read that smoking marijuana can help. In March 2020, I came to Mumbai after completing my studies. Then, through one of my friends, Adish Duggal, I procured imported ganja. I used to pay him Rs 3,000 to Rs 4,000 per gram,” mentioned in his statement.
Aryan Khan and five others were exonerated by the NCB in the drugs-on-cruise case. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of NCB reportedly found no evidence that Aryan Khan was part of a larger drugs conspiracy or an international trafficking syndicate, and that there were several irregularities in the raid during which he was arrested.
