The popular group behind the prestigious Oscars film awards, Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has formed a record breaking list. This time the panel with 928 new members are invited who will be casting their votes for the deserving candidates at the Oscars.

SRK, Madhuri, Anil Kapoor Among Others Invited For The Oscar Academy

A number of Bollywood Stars – Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Anil Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah, Tabu, Aditya Chopra and Ali Fazal are among the 20 Indians who were invited to join as the new members of the Academy.

Rectifying the #OscarsSoWhite controversy and promoting diversity, the new percentage of women in the panel are increased from 28% to 31% and in terms of people of colour, the total is increased from 13% to 16% this year.

Breaking its own record for the third time in a row, it had set a new mark by inviting 774 new members last year which included Bollywood Superstar Amitabh Bachchan, Irrfan Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone amongst others.
