Shah Rukh Khan, the financier is treading carefully in world of small screens. King Khan has launched a new production company called Idiot Box to produce programs exclusively for television.
The company' first program, a chat show titled 'First Ladies' based on a truly innovative idea is aimed at the huge chunk of dedicated lady television viewers. The newly launched weekly sitcom titled 'Ghar Ki Baat Hai' for NDTV Imagine is said to have been inspired from the old television series 'Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi'.
Having started out as a serial actor in hit shows like "Fauji" and "Circus", nostalgia must also have played its part in making SRK plan on producing a serial. SRK's sitcom with its clean comedy hopes to revive the charm of the 80's when Doordarshan was the only source of T.V. entertainment. The stories and characters made by directors like Sai Paranjpye, Kundan Shah, Saeed Mirza and Aziz Mirza used to give an excellent time for the audience.
Speaking to the media at the launch of 'Ghar Ki Baat Hai', King Khan said, "I have been a film producer for the last eight to nine years and have experience acting for the last 20 years. I think I can bring a difference to television. In terms of presentation of content, I will try to bring cinematic value to television".
Actor/director Anant Mahadevan is the director of 'Ghar Ki Baat Hai' having Ali Asghar, Juhi Babbar, Sumeet Raghavan, Jayati Bhatia and Swpnil Joshi in the lead roles.
