SRK's 'Jawan': Vijay Sethupathi pockets monster fees!

Director Atlee of 'Raja Rani' and 'Bigil' fame is currently doing 'Jawan' with Shah Rukh Khan in the lead. Set to hit the screens on June 2 next year, the film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

As is known, Vijay Sethupathi is playing the antagonist in the action drama. It's learned that the 'Uppena' actor has pocketed Rs 21 Cr as remuneration for the larger-than-life villain's role. The fee is astronomical for a non-protagonist.

Red Chillies Entertainment, owned by SRK, was more than happy to pay the amount to the 'Vikram' actor. The reason is that Sethupathi is irreplaceable. He is one actor who brings charisma to a negative role without even uttering a word. Moreover, he has the potential to impress the Hindi audience.

Sethupathi was supposed to do Bala in 'Laal Singh Chaddha'. The role was eventually played to a stellar effect by Naga Chaitanya.

Produced by Gauri Khan, the film co-stars Nayanthara and Priyamani. 'Jawan' is one of the costliest movies in the making.
