Veteran Actor of four decades, known for straightforward talks like veteran KV Raju made an observation that Raju should not receive SR Puttanna Kanagal award announced in his name.
KV Raju is awarded SR Puttanna Kanagal award of Rs.2 lakhs by Karnataka government for 2016 a few days ago. In the last month on March 3, Kannada cinema birthday KV Raju rejected the doyen BR Panthulu award bestowed on him by Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy. When he has rejected a senior to SR Puttanna Kanagal director award, where is the point in receiving SR Puttanna Kanagal award announced by Karnataka government asks Srinivasamurthy. BR Panthulu was much senior and director Puttanna never opening innings when Panthulu was director. Of course like Panthulu, Puttanna also had a good record for his direction.
In case KV Raju receive Puttanna Kanagal award on 24th of April in Bengaluru he will be doing great disrespect to his fraternity senior BR Panthulu. He should not show such disparity says Srinivasamurthy.
On the award money declared by Karnataka government also Srinivasamurthy is unhappy. The first, second and third best films should be honored with Rs.5, Rs.3 and Rs.2 lakhs, SR Puttanna Kanagal, Dr Rajakumar and Dr Vishnuvardhana awards annually should be raised to Rs.5 lakhs each he opines.
The best actor and best actress amount should be a minimum of Rs.1 lakh he disclosed. Let the government rethink on subsidy to 125 Kannada films he laments.
