Srinath replaces Kannan in directing Santhanam

It is said that SS Rajamouli is remaking Maryada Ramanna with Santhanam in the lead for which Kannan will be the director. Sources say that this has changed. Director and Actor Srinath will be in charge of the direction and not Kannan.
When asking Kannan about this he said, I was in talks with producer Prasad V Potluri's banner for the remake but, they wanted to work on a first copy basis with Santhanam. Since I was not comfortable with this process, I opted out of the film. I spoke to both the producers and Santhanam and it was a mutual decision. I'm ready with my next script - Alangaram. And I will be making this film for the same banner. An official announcement will be made soon.
