Small-time TV actress Srilakshmi Kanakala is no more. She had been battling cancer and succumbed to the disease on Monday. Survived by her husband Peddi Rama Rao and daughters (Prerna and Ragaleena), the death of the sister of Rajeev Kanakala and sister-in-law of star anchor Suma has left the family bereaved.

Her health condition had been unstable for many months. Her family and friends were helpless.

Popular because of TV serials such as 'Agnipoolu' and 'Ruthu Geetham', Srilakshmi was known for her friendly nature. Her mother Lakshmi had died in 2018, and her father Devadas (a renowned acting guru) died in 2019. Srilakshmi's death comes as an agonizing thing for the Kanakalas.

Writer-actor Harshavardhan has urged well-wishers to stay away from visiting the residence of the Kanakalas at a time when the coronavirus scare is intense. "I am making this request after talking with Srilakshmi garu's husband," he said today.
