Recently, a petitioner named Vikas Singh went to the Delhi High Court seeking a probe into the death of the acting legend Sridevi in Dubai, on Feb 24. When the HC rejected his plea, he went to the Supreme Court. Today, the SC too rejected the plea.
As per a report, the petitioner argued in his petition that the late actress "had a Rs. 240 crore insurance policy in her name in Oman". It further says that the "money could be released only if she died in UAE."
This is the basis for the petitioner seeking a reinvestigation into the circumstances that led to Sridevi's death.
However, a bench headed by the Chief Justice today said, "We had already dismissed two petitions on the same issue. We can't interfere."
