Looks like ‘English Vinglish’ turned out to be very lucky for the evergreen actress Sridevi...

The 49-year old actress yesterday was honoured with the prestigious Padma Shri award for her contribution to cinema and society. Dressed in a gorgeous pink and gold saree, Sridevi was felicitated with the award by President Pranab Mukherjee. The actress was accompanied by her husband, producer Boney Kapoor and two daughters.

Sridevi’s comeback vehicle ‘English Vinglish’ bagged her critical acclaim as well as went on to prove that she still has in it her to impress with her acting prowess like before. Released in 2012, the film was directed by debutant Gauri Shinde.

Besides Sridevi, veteran actress Sharmila Tagore received Padma Bhushan Award at the coveted annual award ceremony, held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.

The next batch of winners will soon be felicitated at later date....
