Veteran actress Sridevi has expressed shock over the comment so 'Baahubali' director S.S.Rajamouli's comments about her not being a part of the epic series of films.
In an interview to a Telugu news channel Sridevi said she was saddened by the director's comments. Stating that Rajamouli is a calm and dignified person with whom she will be always happy to work with, the 53 year old actress said that the director would have been misinformed by the films producer on why she could not take part in 'Baahubali' in the Rajamatha Sivagami character which eventually went to Ramya Krishnan.
Rajamouli has apparently stated in one of his recent interviews that though Sridevi was approached initially for the Rajamatha character. her high was beyond the film's budget and hence the idea of casting her was dropped. Though the director did not expressly mentioned what he meant as the "not affordable demands" of Sridevi, it is rumored that the 'Moondram Pirai' actress demanded a salary of Rs.10 crores and an entire floor of a Five Star hotel booked for her and her staff during the shooting.
However Sridevi has refuted this allegation and said if she were to throw such starry tantrums she could not have completed these many years as a leading actress in film industries of multiple languages.
