It's known that Sivagami in 'Baahubali' was supposed first to be played by the evergreen legend Sridevi. SS Rajamouli was keen to rope her in, but not at any cost.
Before the role went to Ramya Krishna (who alone could have pulled it off with such aplomb and dignity if not for Sridevi), the producers were in for shock when Sridevi quoted Rs. 6 Cr for remuneration.
Had they knew that the film would go on to cost them hundreds of crores, complete with a gargantuan Hindi release, they wouldn't have minded to shell out that much money. In fact, that would have been seen as peanuts, considering that they spent Rs. 2 Cr on Vfx for ensuring that Anushka looked slimmer. But there was a time when the project's earmarked budget was something like Rs. 80 Cr or so.
In the event, Ramya Krishna has come out with flying colours by enacting the same role.
