Sridevi adds charm to Onam festival; After PULI, she will play a woman centric Hindi film!

Sridevi added a dash of glitter to the famous South Indian Onam festival. Besides wishing her fans Onam festival Sridevi`s upcoming Vijay starrer PULI`s audio release stole thunder on Malayalam TV channel Surya TV.

Sridevi fans went gaga after watching the gala event. It may be noted that the audio release was launched on 2 August in Chennai and ever since a hype was generated on the TV.

In addition to this the Onam festival also witnessed Sridevi`s husband Boney Kapoor announcing a woman centric film with her in the lead in his home production. Sridevi`s last film for Boney Kapoor production was JUDAAI (1997). The film also featured Anil Kapoor and Urmila Matondkar.

To be directed by debutant director admired ad filmmaker, Ravi Udyawar, the movie is a journey of a woman and her relation with her grown up daughter. Ravi Udyawar, who has penned an innovative script exclusive for Sridevi revealed that when he narrated the idea to Boney Kapoor he was bowled over and immediately gave his nod for the film.

Though there are speculations about Akshara Haasan, daughter of Kamal Haasan, being cast as Sridevi`s daughter but Boney Kapoor has denied the rumors saying the casting is yet to be finalized.

Further there are rumors that since the movie is woman centric and has Sridevi playing a strong lady, media is rife with buzz that the movie may be inspired on the lines of Nargis`s MOTHER INDIA.

Boney Kapoor confirmed, "Yes the movie has a strong woman oriented subject but it is not the typical Mother` kind of role and is neither a remake nor an inspiration. Ravi Udyawar has written an original story keeping in mind the histrionics of Sridevi."
