At a time when the entire film industry is moving after films with action, faction and love backdrop, some mythological films are coming now and then to prove that devotion and fear of God is still lying among the people. One gets a film that mythological films are back and K Raghavendra Rao was responsible for creating this trend with his films like 'Annamayya and Sri Ramadasu'. Suman, who portrayed the roles of Lord Venkateswara and Lord Rama, has become the hot favorite for such roles. In this backdrop, a film based on Lord Satyanarayana took shape under the direction of Nagesh Naradasi. The film had six songs and six slokas / poems. The film preaches how to do Satyanarayana Vratam in a systematic way. Suman was portrayed in nine different get-ups in this film and film would definitely spread devotion among the people. After 'Devullu', Vandemataram Srinivas did this devotional album and used all his experience and expertise in providing soulful music. Almost all the lyrics were penned by Burra Subrahmanya Sastry.
Adhi Dhevudu Singer: Shankar Mahadevan Lyricist: Borra Subrahmanya Shastri
This is a melody number depicting Lord Rama offering prayers to Lord Satyanarayana. It is the right mix of classical instruments. Vandemataram Srinivas used tabla, veena and other such classical musical implements to enhance the melody of the number. The literary value of the song is high as it depicted that not only men but monkeys could also serve the Lord and gets his blessings.
Bhagawan Bhagawan.. Singer: KJ Yesudas Lyricist: Sai Madhav Borra
This is yet another melody number, rendered by Yesudas. There is no need for a second thought when the rendition was from the mellifluous voice of Yesudas. This time, the Vandemataram Srinivas used guitar kind of modern instruments along with violin and tabla and the interludes of flute elevated the mood of the audience.
Nomi Nomannalaro Singers: Vandemataram Srinivas, Bakaraju Swapna, Padmaja Srinivas Lyricist: Sai Madhav Borra
This number was tuned as a folk song. The traditional drums besides jazz drums were freely used by the music director. The tune is quite melodious besides gave scope for foot-tapping. Vandemataram Srinivas who is known for rendering good folk songs himself rendered this number along with Bakaraju Swapna, Padmaja Srinivas.
Adigo Nija Daivam Singer: Srikanth Lyricist: Sai Madhav Borra
This song is meant for hailing Lord Satyanarayana and yet another melody-based number. Vandemataram Srinivas ensured that the musical instrument did not dominate the singer's voice, as the lyricist chose to hail the Lord. This number has a rhythmic beat of drums in the backdrop to help the audience do a symmetrical clap like a bhajan.
Satyadeva Vratamu Singer: SP Balasubrahmanyam Lyricist: Borra Subrahmanya Shastri
This is a fantastic number which is a must heard song by everyone. Generally everyone makes a puja with various Sanskrit mantras. But very few people do know what they really mean. When the purohit reads and tells us to do something we mechanically perform the puja. But in this number the lyricist had described how the puja has to be performed in very simple Telugu words. At the same time, the real meaning of Satyanarayana Swami Prasadam was elaborated in the last stanza. A perfect depiction of Satyanarayana Vratam, which takes at least three hours if it was done in a proper manner. But the lyricist was able to depict it in a six-minute song. Coming from the melodious voice of SP Balasubrahmanyam, music director Vandemataram Srinivas tuned it in an excellent way.
