If there was one album Telugu audience have desperately waited for, it should be this one.
Sri Raghavam Singers: M.M. Keeravani
Keeravani soulfully sings this slokam "Sri Raghavam, Dasharathatmajam aprameyam..". A good and auspicious start to the album and sets the tone for the rest of the album very well.
Ikshwaku Kula Tilaka 5* Raagam: Kamboji Singers: Shankar Mahadevan
Amazing, brilliant and a wonderful song!!. Special praise for Shankar Mahadevan for singing this song beautifully and at a high pitch. Ramadasu lists all that he has done for Sri Rama and his family and goes onto question, demand, get angry and in the end pleads for Rama's blessings.
Idhigidhigo 5* Lyrics: Bharavi Singers: Sunitha
This song goes onto explain Bhadrachala Kshetram's importance in Ramayana, that it's the land where Lord Rama stayed and lists all important remains/symbols in this Kshetram. However, the song beautifully ends with a feeling of Viraham (probably felt by Wife of Ramadasu), that there is no place for Her Rama (Ramadasu) to stay in that place. Bharavi has come up with beautiful lyrics and Sunitha has sung it extremely well.
Sri Rama Rama 5* Keeravani sings the Slokam "Sri rama rama rameti.." from Vishnu Sahasranaamam, which is composed in similar style of "Padahaaru kalalaku" from 'Annamayya' movie with Vedic chants in the background.
Suddha Brahma 5* Singers: Pranavi
This song is composed in the same tune as the very popular tune of "Raghupati raghava raja ram..". The lyrics are taken from 'Naama Ramayana' (Slokas from Balakanda, Yuddha Kanda, Ayodhya Kaanda, Kishkinda Kaanda have been used). Pranavi sings this song soulfully.
Thandri Matanu 5* Singers: Sunitha Lyrics: Bharavi
This is not a complete song, but just a phrase "Tandri maatanu nilupaga, Raamundu adavulaku payanamyye, nenu mee baatalone vastanu anuchu Seethamma kadile, Oh padati aa adivalo kashtalu padalevu ani Raamudu, needane vadilipetti meerela vellagalru anane Sita". There are no instruments used and the phrase is rendered by Sunitha beautifully.
Mangalam (Ramachandraya Janaka Rajaja Manoharaya) 5* Raagam: Navaroj
This is a straight Classical Manglam song written by Ramadasu without any changes. Divine is the only word to explain this.
Charanamulane 5* Singers: Madhu Balakrishna, Chitra, Ramachary
This song has four Ramadasu keertanas. It starts off with "Charanamulane" (Kaapi) then "Paavana raama" (Kaapi) then "Nandabalam bhajare" (Maayamalava Gowla) and ends with Sri raama namam maruvam (Naadanamakriya). Madhu Balakrishna, Chitra and Ramachary do a great job in singing each song.
Chalu Chalu 3.5* Singers: S.P. Charan, Sunitha Lyrics: Chandrabose
A romantic song, on similar lines of "eele eele maradala.." from 'Annamayya'. The song is good. They have sung well.
Nannu Brovamani 5* Raagam: Kalyani Singers: S.P. Balu, Sunitha
This is a very well known Ramadau keertana and SPB captures the emotion (of Ramadasu pleading Seetha devi to tell Lord Rama to bless him) and depth of the lyrics in his rendition amazingly well and you will be almost on the verge of tears listening to this. Keeravani uses the right instruments (Violin) and simple percussion to enhance the mood.
Adhigo Bhadragiri 5* Singer: SPB Lyrics: Veturi :
The lyrics goes on to describe Bhadrachala Kshetram's story and why its named Bhadrachalam in simple words (a trademark of Veturi), it is very easy to follow the story. Bal
